Raya Holidays

soo hello guyss! welcome to our page again :) Since the Syawal month just ended, so we're gonna share with you guys about what happened during our Raya holidays. We hope you enjoy your reading!!

During my Raya holiday, my family and I went to Perak to support my cousin who is participating in an Orchestra Competition at University Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). I felt so excited because that was my former school and I used to join the competition too. I used to play the clarinet, while my cousin chooses to play the percussion. As we arrived,my family and I ate our lunch at the famous yet delicious Yik Mun Tanjung Malim Pau Coffee Shop & Restaurant. They serve the best pau I’ve ever had:)) After finishing our lunch,we straight to the competition’s venue. After the performance, they straight away give the prizes. Anddd they won the gold medal and the best percussion for 2 years in a row! I am so proud of her and the other band members as they were practicing so hard to win for the national category. So after the prize giving, we took some pictures together and we went straight back home. -irissa

For me,my Raya holidays is a slightly different from the past because this year all my cousin who is the same age as me will countinue their studies to another level. So all my aunt will gather and talk about their own son and daughter so they can brag to each other.Well i don’t think this is a bad idea because i can meet my cousin and niece after a long time we been seperated. For information my hometown is at Kedah for both of my parent.I thought that i can travel further because some of my friend has different hometown but Kedah is also a great places.During night of Raya, all of our family including grandfather will places the lamps at outside to decorates the house.During the Raya day i and my cousin will go to all the houses and collect the duit raya.Althought we are the adults,we also receive plenty of money and was very proud of ourself to still receive a lot of duit raya. The last day of my raya holiday,my aunt make an open house for their new house that just recently finish. We invited all the neighbour and cook together for the event. At night,we will perform the tahlil and yassin to our anchestor and family who had past. The next day in the morning,we went to visit grandmother grave before going back home. This year Raya sure feel lonely without grandmother.

As for me my Raya holiday this year is one of the most boring one in the past few years. I didn't go back to my kampung so I just spent the whole day of first raya in my new baju raya while casually eating rendang and ketupat. Ohhh and watching raya movies not to forget!! Haha. Raya for me is one of the most beautiful holidays we get here in Malaysia. It's the time where we can visit our family members who are long forgotten. If we only visit them once a year, then raya holiday is definitely that time where we visit them. But the whole month of Syawal is one of the best month next to Ramadan. Despite my boring first raya, the whole month of Syawal is still a blessing to me because I got to meet all my long lost high school friends this raya. They are so hard to meet since they further their studies but this Syawal, I finally get to reunite with them again. Raya holidays for me, is indeed the month where we reunite with our long lost family members, buddies and so on. Best thing about Raya holiday is definitely the food. But one often forget about all the moments we get to experience with our beloved family and friends. - Amirah

Now,its  my turn  to share with you guys  about my holiday eid mubarak for a week at  the village. But usually me and my family always go back home to our village in first syawal after prayer eid mubarak. But after paryer eid mubarak the first thing always do in malay culture is forgiven to my family at home every year on eid mubarak. Also,   the most important on eid mubarak must have ketupat, rendang or lontong in malay culture but the special food on my first syawal is nasi briani. Another that, my big family always visit people in village  when on eid mubarak from morning untill night but Sometimes we were going in morning untill afternoon. In night, me and my cousins always doing game with  each other means  playing firecrakers or fire works  somitimes we gonnna fight with other villagers untill we won and we chat with each other after play. I think its is the best moment on eid mubarak for this year.- iman zafirah
